ref. Colossians 1:2-12

Colossians 1:2–12 (NLT) -- 2 We are writing to God’s holy people in the city of Colosse, who are faithful brothers and sisters in Christ. May God our Father give you grace and peace. 3 We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God’s people, 5 which come from your confident hope of what God has reserved for you in heaven. You have had this expectation ever since you first heard the truth of the Good News. 6 This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace. 7 You learned about the Good News from Epaphras, our beloved co-worker. He is Christ’s faithful servant, and he is helping us on your behalf. 8 He has told us about the love for others that the Holy Spirit has given you. 9 So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10 Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. 11 We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, 12 always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.

REST

REST!!!

Rest your body, your mind, your spirit, and your soul.

It is senseless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, fearing you will starve to death; for GOD wants His loved ones to get their proper rest  (Psalm 127:2 TLB).

  • Rest is so important that GOD put it in the Ten Commandments: Every seventh day, you are to rest.
  • If you’re not taking a day off every week, you’re breaking one of His commandments.
  • Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is get some rest. It’s amazing how much better things look after a good night’s sleep!

Revelation 1:5–6 (KJV) -- 5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the Prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, 6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Psalm 145:10–13 (KJV) -- 10 All Thy works shall praise Thee, O LORD; and Thy saints shall bless Thee. 11 They shall speak of the glory of Thy kingdom, and talk of Thy power; 12 To make known to the sons of men His mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of His kingdom. 13 Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.

John 14:27 (KJV) -- 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Acts 10:13–15 (KJV) -- 13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. 14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. 15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

Romans 8:37–39 (KJV) -- 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 Corinthians 10:4–5 (KJV) -- 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Ephesians 4:25–27 (KJV) -- 25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. 26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27 Neither give place to the devil.

Ephesians 4:32 (KJV) -- 32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

John 16:33 (KJV) -- 33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

A Prayer for October

A Prayer for October
Oct 2 - Written By Alyssa Morgan

God we thank you for helping us make it through the first nine months of 2023. There have been many triumphs and pains but you have remained consistent. Thank you for keeping a hedge of protection around us as we go through our days. We thank you for the accidents, illnesses, and evil that you kept away. Thank you for every unseen force that came against us that we were unaware of and that you intercepted. We are grateful for every weapon that formed but did not prosper against us because of your love for us. You are our warrior and our defender. Thank you.

Heal our broken hearts from grief. From lost opportunities, rejections, redirections and how we thought you would show up. Heal the voids that were created from the death of loved ones, betrayal of friends, or the loss of respect in those we admired and looked up to. Restore our faith and trust in people. Allow us to seek and expect the best from those around us. As the world continues to grow darker, allow your light to shine through us.

As we go into the month of October, we ask for your guidance. Show us which paths to take and what steps to make. Allow our thoughts and actions to come into alignment with your will for our lives. Help us to seek you daily. For everyone who has a need, hear our prayers and meet our needs. Let this be a reminder that you have not forgotten about us or our situations. Ignite hope inside of us all. Allow us to believe that things will happen for us and work in our favor. We are believing for new job offers, debts paid, healing from sickness, restored marriages, reconciled relationships, financial resolutions, successful partnerships, healthy pregnancies, approved mortgages, and so much more. We know that you are able to do things for us in these last 3 months of the year. We pray for acceleration in every area that felt stagnant. Open the right doors, close the wrong ones and give us wisdom to follow your discernment. Our best days are ahead of us and we will see your goodness this month.

In Jesus' Name Amen

~ Welcome October with ease and expectation for all that GOD is going to do.~

JOY

JOY!!!

Happiness comes and goes but JOY comes from the LORD.

Thanking GOD that our strength comes from His JOY.

Remembering that the LORD is our place and means of safety;

He is our protection and always a very present help;

He is our refuge, stronghold, deliverer and JOY giver.

FATHER, fill me fresh with the Your JOY.
Thank You for what You are doing in my heart and in my life.
May I overflow with Your contagious JOY. Amen.

Nehemiah 8:10 (NLT) -- And Nehemiah continued, “Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the JOY of the LORD is your strength!

Galatians 5:22–23 (NLT) --
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, JOY, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Come Celebrate with ME!

Celebration 'is the completion of worship, for it dwells on the greatness of God as shown in His goodness to us'. -- D.Willard

Praise GOD for HIS Wonderful Words of Encouragement!

Psalm 46:10a (NKJV) -- 10 Be still and know that I AM GOD! …

Exodus 14:13a (NKJV) -- 13 And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today…

Psalm 46:10 (TPT) -- 10 Surrender your anxiety! Be silent and stop your striving and you will see that I AM God. I AM the God above all the nations, and I will be exalted throughout the whole earth.

Psalm 68:19 (TPT) -- 19 What a glorious God! He gives us salvation over and over, then daily He carries our burdens! Pause in His presence.

James 1:12 (TPT) -- 12 If your faith remains strong, even while surrounded by life’s difficulties, you will continue to experience the untold blessings of God! True happiness comes as you pass the test with faith and receive the victorious crown of life promised to every lover of God!

Romans 8:28 (TPT) -- 28 So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are His lovers who have been called to fulfill His designed purpose.

Psalm 105:1 (TPT) -- 1 Go ahead and give God thanks for all the glorious things He has done! Go ahead and worship Him! Tell everyone about His wonders!

1 Peter 5:6 (TPT) -- 6 If you bow low in God’s awesome presence, He will eventually exalt you as you leave the timing in his hands.

Ephesians 3:16 (TPT) -- 16 And I pray that He would unveil within you the unlimited riches of his glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with His divine might and explosive power.

Romans 10:9 (TPT) -- 9 And what is God’s “living message”? It is the revelation of faith for salvation, which is the message that we preach. For if you publicly declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will experience salvation.

Rich Faith & Fellowship Has Rewards

Hebrews 11:5–6 (TPT) -- 5 Faith lifted Enoch from this life and he was taken up into heaven! He never had to experience death; he just disappeared from this world because God promoted him. For before he was translated to the heavenly realm his life had become a pleasure to God. 6 And without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that he is real and that he rewards the faith of those who give all their passion and strength into seeking him.

Genesis 5:24 (NIV) -- 24 Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.

Matthew 25:21 (TPT) -- 21 Commending His servant, the Master replied, You have done well, and proven yourself to be My loyal and trustworthy servant. Because you have been a faithful steward to manage a small sum, now I will put you in charge of much, much more. You will experience the delight of your Master, who will say to you, “Come celebrate with Me!”

Joy is to be shared!

Enoch's Walk of Faith

When the Bible says that someone “walked with God,” it means that person had a very close fellowship with Him. There was a close connection.

It didn’t bother Enoch to be out of step with everything and everyone else because he had such a rich fellowship with God—a relationship that was intimate, potent, passionate, and powerful. He wouldn’t have traded that for anything else.

God wants you to be so close to Him that when it’s time for you to leave earth and enter heaven, you won’t mind the transition because you won’t want to lose the connection.

REMEMBER:  We are rich in the spiritual realm because of what we have inherited by virtue of our faith in Jesus Christ.
~Tony Evans~

Genesis 5:21-24 (NLT) -- When Enoch was 65 years old, he became the father of Methuselah. After the birth of Methuselah, Enoch lived in close fellowship with God for another 300 years, and he had other sons and daughters. Enoch lived 365 years, walking in close fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him.

Hebrews 11:5–6 (NLT) -- It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying—“he disappeared, because God took him.” For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God. And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.

Jude 14–15 (NLT) -- 14 Enoch, who lived in the seventh generation after Adam, prophesied about these people. He said, “Listen! The Lord is coming with countless thousands of His holy ones 15 to execute judgment on the people of the world. He will convict every person of all the ungodly things they have done and for all the insults that ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”
